Area Agency on Aging

As the designated Area Agency on Aging for the five-county region that encompasses Bladen, Hoke, Richmond, Robeson, and Scotland counties.
Our responsibilities include:

• Planning, initiating and implementing programs and services for older adults, including but not limited to:

  • Long Term Care Ombudsman
  • Nutrition Programs
  • Senior Games
  • Medication Management
  • Family Caregiving
  • Title V Senior Employment Program
    



• Under the Older Americans Act, we work as an advocate for older adults at the local, state, and federal level.

• Training and technical assistance are also provided to agencies and organizations that serve older adults.

• The Lumber River Council of Governments also serves as the lead agency for the Home and Community Care Block Grant for Robeson and Scotland Counties.
